Welcoming Our New Principal to St. Cecilia School and Academy

Dear Friends of St. Cecilia School and Academy,

Emily Roth Principal, St. Cecilia School and AcademyWe are pleased to introduce Mrs. Emily Roth as the new principal of St. Cecilia School and Academy, replacing Mrs. Mary Loux, who has made the choice to step down as principal of St. Cecilia to focus on her growing family. While we have been truly blessed by Mrs. Loux’s leadership and direction these past four years, she had made the choice to transition into her most important vocation: being a full time mother to Lucy, Frankie, and her new son Vincent, born on May 12th. We congratulate Mrs. Loux, and wish her and her growing family the very best.

A native St. Louisan, Mrs. Roth grew up in Incarnate Word Parish. She was an active LifeTeen participant and realized she had a heart for service and education early on. After attending college at the University of San Diego and earning her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she returned to Incarnate Word Parish to begin her teaching career. Mrs. Roth then spent the next 12 years teaching and instructionally coaching in international schools around the world, including United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guatemala -- where she became fluent in Spanish.

Mrs. Roth considers herself an activist for innovative teaching and learning and spent the last five years being inspired by educators all over North America while she worked for Digital Promise, a nonprofit organization commissioned by the White House. Mrs. Roth is passionate about globalizing the classroom, making learning meaningful, and giving students opportunities to make a real difference in this world while living out the Gospel.

Mrs. Roth received her Master of Science from Buffalo State University in Education, and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University. She loves traveling, Zumba, and global service opportunities with her three daughters.

Mrs. Roth has already provided a smooth transition of leadership during Mrs. Loux's maternity leave, and has supported and engaged St. Cecilia faculty, families and students in this time of great transition. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Roth by sending her a congratulatory message at eroth@stc-stl.org.
