Welcome to St. Cecilia School and Academy! We are a Catholic elementary, Christ-centered, urban school helping prepare its students to proclaim the Good News and to translate Gospel values into action. The education received is important, both for the individual, in promoting the dignity of human life, and for society, in actively pursuing peace and justice. These skills and virtues are necessary for effective service to the community and for the development of a well-balanced person. Therefore, as a faith community, our vision is to provide an atmosphere in which each child can develop intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically.

School Happenings - 2016 Fall Edition

It has been an honor to serve the St. Cecilia community over the past eight years, and I am thrilled to continue in my new role as principal. Throughout my years working at St. Cecilia, I have learned that we can do nothing without God. Jesus tells us in John 15: Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. Our theme for the 2016-2017 school year is: One Body in Christ. As we remain united to Christ, we also strive to practice our core values:

  • Dignity- See the image of God in each person
  • Integrity- Striving for excellence in all things
  • Service- Placing the needs of others first
  • Perseverance- Never giving up

St. Cecilia is excited to welcome the following new staff members:

  • 2nd Grade Teacher: Anne Gantner (more about her in our Teacher Spotlight)
  • LaSallian Volunteer: Bianca Desamour
  • Learning Consultant: Diane Richter
  • Teacher’s Aide: Kelly Smith

Thank you for your continued support and prayers for our school community in the upcoming school year! Please feel free to come and visit our school.

Mary Loux
